Design Solution: Blended romantic/historical components such as wood, antiques, and rounded forms (entry stair, roof line, window shapes) with modern components reminiscent of loft spaces such as steel windows/ guardrails and high ceilings at entry and living room. Clean, refined and spare detailing in the casework and millwork reflected a modernist aesthetic. Furniture and accessories were a mix of modern and antique pieces, further reinforcing the tension between romantic/historical and modernism.
